DIRECTIONS:

We are located at the Cowichan Exhibition Society, 7380 Trans Canada Hwy Duncan BC and Mays Road.  Please vist our "MAP" section for a google picture of our location.

From Victoria:

Take Hwy 1 north through the City of Duncan. Stay on Hwy 1, pass Herd Road and turn left on Mays Road.  Chevron Card lock is on the right. Approx 58 mins.

From Nanaimo:

Take Hwy 1 south of Nanaimo, pass Ladysmith and Chemanius.  Turn right on Mays road. Approx 36 mins.

SUNFEST CITY SQUARE and SHOW SITE:

• Food and merchandise vendors, beer garden, Sunfest Saloon and Main Stage area.
• No outside alcohol permitted.
• No glass containers.
• Only manufactured, SEALED bottles of water are permitted into Sunfest City Square. 
• No coolers or outside food or beverages permitted on the show site.
• Everyone is subject to a security search before entering the show site. All bags, back packs and drink containers will be checked and wristbands will be confirmed.
• No VIDEO cameras permitted.  Still cameras are allowed and arrangements have been made for taking photos near the stage.
• No umbrellas or chairs with canopies please.

SUNFEST MAIN STAGE:  

• Reserved Seating:  Looking from the stage in to the audience.
• Section "A" on the left of stage, going from center to outside - row (A)- starts at 12 and goes to 1, row (B) - starts at 14 and goes to 1, row (C) -16 to 1, row (D) - 18 to 1, row (E) - 20 to 1, row (F) - 22 to 1.
• Section "C" on the left - row (G) to (R) all start at 24 - 1
• Section "B" on the right of stage going from center to outside - row (A) - starts at 13 - 24, row (B) - starts at 15 - 28, row (C) - 17 - 32, row (D) - 19 - 36, row (E) - 21 - 40, row (F) - 23 - 44.
• Section "D" on the right - row (G) to (R) all start at 25 - 48

BEER GARDEN and SUNFEST SALOON:

• Must be 19 or older to enter the beer garden area and two pieces of ID are required.
• Special side dance floor area open to youths 18 and under. No alcohol permitted in this area.
• New Sunfest Saloon equipped with tables, chairs and tented area.  Live music and dancing all weekend long, beginning at 1pm.
• Post party entertainment after Main Stage closes, till 1am.

DAILY ACTIVITIES:

Thursday Kick off Party -

• Come join us at the Main Stage this year and help kick off Sunfest 2012 with the very first "Battle of the Bands".  Local bands will compete to win one of three coveted opening act spots on Friday, Saturday and Sunday.  Help us judge and vote for your favorite band!  Party starts at 5pm and rocks till 12am.  Headline acts TBA very shortly. Visit the website often for more info on the entire Sunfest 2012 lineup.

Post Main Stage party - Friday and Saturday

• Held at the Sunfest Saloon in the beer garden.  Dance the night away listening to your favorite DJ, have a snack at our vendor village, kick it up and party till 1am. OR, have a coffee before you head home.

GENERAL RULES:

• On site security is available 24 hours a day through out the weekend.  However, PLEASE, lock up your valuables to avoid theft.
• Official Sunfest 2012 wrist bands must be worn at all times and are subject to inspection and confirmation.  Any wristband found altered, fraudulent or counterfeit be removed and the owner will be escorted from the site.
• Any criminal activity, violence, extreme drunkenness, destruction of property or any other violation of rules is subject to possible arrest, removal of wristband and immediate removal from the grounds.
• Sunfest Concerts and Wideglide Entertainment assume no liability for personal loss, injury, death, property damage or other related harm suffered by participants, spectators, site owners, leasers, or others who may be adversely affected by the event.
• SHOW WILL GO AHEAD RAIN OR SHINE.
• LINEUP SUBJECT TO CHANGE WITHOUT NOTICE.
• All bags, including but not limited to, purses and backpacks are subject to security search. 
• No outside alcohol is permitted anywhere on the show site, main roadways, Sunfest Saloon, vendor area or main concert area.  Outside alcohol is permitted in campsite area only.  Security has the right to confiscate and dispose of alcohol outside designated areas.
• Valid photo ID required at all times and is subject to inspection when entering and/or purchasing liquor tickets in any licensed area, including beer garden and main concert area.
• Sales or distribution of any unauthorized or illegal materials on the event site, without express written consent of Sunfest 2012 or its artists, is subject to confiscation, removal or arrest.
• Patrons entering onto the festival property may have their image and/or likeness reproduced for promotional and/or publicity purposes in festival photography and/or web casts by the festival, contractor, media and/or partners of Sunfest 2012.  By entering the grounds, you agree to allow such use of your image and/or likeness by Sunfest 2012.
• We ask that you support our beer garden, food and merchandise vendors as partial proceeds go to help local charities.  They are available throughout the weekend.
• Gates are open by 10am each morning, however delays are possible due to equipment or artists loading in.  For the safety of our patrons, we retain the right to delay the opening of the gate.
• In the Reserved Seating area chairs are permitted to remain. However, all chairs in General Seating must be removed nightly.

MEDIA:

Media Credentials -

• Sunfest Concerts will issue media credentials and a complimentary ticket prior to the event for reporters and photographers.  Please fill out the form and submit with all necessary paperwork from your media company.  Please include on your company letterhead the name and title of the person submitting the request, contact information, a list of staff covering our event, their assigned duties, dates and times and an example of expected coverage of the event.  Upon acceptance,  you will be given access to all on-stage performances.

VENDORS:

Food and Merchandise -

• Vendor applications are available and must be returned before February 29, 2012.  Applications will be reviewed and accepted vendors will be notified by March 2012. 
• Apply early as spots are limited and go quickly.  Vendors not accepted will be kept on file for future opportunities.
• Vendor fees are based on size and space required for concession unit.  This includes any stakes, awnings and hitches. 
• Vendors are responsible for own electricity and water. Generator power is recommended.
• All vendors must provide a certificate of insurance.  Full details are provided on the application.
• Sunfest 2012 has the right to restrict the sale of any item.
