About
SunFest.
Four years ago, Wide Glide productions, a
local company, brought forth the idea of
Sunfest; a family oriented outdoor concert
showcasing Canadian artists. Each year
Sunfest hosts all Canadian bands, showcasing
over 10 hours of entertainment, with plenty
of food and refreshments served in a
festival
type atmosphere.
On August 18 2001, with the audience at
attention in the open
fields of Providence Farm, Canadian rock
legend 5440 stormed
the stage and began to make history in what
was the Cowichan
Valley’s first outdoor Rock Concert!
After three great years under the stars at
Providence Farm,
Sunfest had outgrown its roots. As a result,
Sunfest now
welcomes a new home at Avalon Acres, with
over 100 acres of
room for camping, festival events, food
vendors and a great big
stage! In addition to the success in the
Cowichan Valley,
Sunfest has expanded to include shows in
Courtney and
Victoria. Sunfest 2006 will host shows in
the Cowichan Valley
and Courtenay, with record crowds expected
at both events!
The past success of Sunfest has relied on
two elements: Good
Music and Great People! Without our
hardworking volunteers
year after year, Sunfest would not have
evolved from a one band concert to hosting
six bands for 2006!
Don’t Miss New Sunfest Entertainment:
Trials Bikes Demo, Show ‘n’ Shine, Honda
Demo’s
and more.
